Kaziranga National Park falls under two districts of the state of Assam, Nagaon and Golaghat. Tourists visiting north-eastern part of India always ensure to include this wildlife reserve in their itinerary. HOW TO GET TO KAZIRANGA
One can take the Assam state transport corporation buses plying / private buses / private cabs. The resort is at a distance of 250kms from Guwahati. From Jorhat, there are private buses/ ASRTC buses/private cabs available.
Guwahati to Mariani is 3hrs, the distance from Mariani to the resort is 2hrs by cab.

WHEN TO VISIT
The Kaziranga National Park is open only from November to April. During the monsoons, the Brahmaputra becomes very volatile and threatens to overflow so the animals inside the park move from one area to the other for safety; as a result of this the park is closed for the public.
There are several guest houses, lodges and jungle resorts that are located in the vicinity of Kaziranga. Most of them offer sightseeing and tour packages for their visitors.
However for a memorable vacation we recommend a stay at United 21 Grasslands Resort. This is located in the Bagori range and is spread out over large premises. You can have a relaxed vacation and indulge in safaris at the same time.
GETTING AROUND KAZIRANGA
Kaziranga National Park (Timing - 5:15 am to 3:30 pm)
Walking inside the park is not allowed.
There are two modes of transport in the park - elephant and jeeps but they have to be booked well in advance.

Gohpur, located 7.6 km away from Kaziranga National Park, is one of the places in Assam with a lot of history attached to it. This town is the birthplace of Kanaklata Barua, a renowned freedom fighter. Major attractions of this town are Gohpur Reserve Forest, Dhandi Devalay and Bor Pukhuri.
Assam is known for the worl-class tea it produces and some of the tea that is made here is exported to locations all over the world. That is the reason why a visit to the tea gardens top the list of any visitor to Assam. There are several tea gardens close to Kaziranga, some of them are Hathkhuli, Methoni, Difalu, Behora and Borchapori.
